Investment advisory services

Investment advisory services, if offered, may include financial planning, investment policy review, portfolio strategy, asset allocation guidance, manager or strategy evaluation, tax-aware coordination, risk management review, consolidated reporting coordination, and related family office oversight. The scope of any advisory relationship is governed solely by the written client agreement, Form ADV disclosures, and applicable regulatory documents.

Echelon may coordinate with third-party custodians, investment managers, private fund sponsors, accountants, attorneys, trustees, insurance professionals, retirement plan providers, or other advisors. Unless expressly agreed in writing, Echelon does not provide custody, brokerage execution, legal advice, tax return preparation, trustee services, audit representation, or securities placement services.

Investment risks

All investments involve risk, including possible loss of principal. Asset allocation, diversification, tax-loss harvesting, alternative investments, private funds, hedging strategies, concentrated stock strategies, income planning, and other techniques do not assure a profit or protect against loss. Past performance is not indicative of future results, and no investment strategy can guarantee outcomes.

Alternative investments, private funds, direct investments, real estate, private credit, venture capital, hedge funds, structured products, and similar strategies may involve heightened risks, including illiquidity, leverage, valuation uncertainty, limited transparency, manager risk, tax complexity, long lock-up periods, capital calls, lack of diversification, and limited regulatory oversight. Such investments may be suitable only for qualified, accredited, or otherwise eligible investors.

Conflicts of interest

Echelon and its affiliates, personnel, or related parties may have conflicts of interest, including compensation arrangements, referral relationships, outside business activities, shared ownership interests, relationships with third-party managers or providers, or incentives related to particular service models. Material conflicts should be disclosed in Form ADV, client agreements, and other regulatory documents as applicable.

Fees and expenses

Clients may pay Echelon advisory, planning, consulting, retainer, project, subscription, or other fees as described in a written agreement. Clients may also incur separate fees and expenses charged by custodians, managers, funds, attorneys, CPAs, trustees, administrators, insurance providers, retirement plan providers, and other third parties. Total costs can materially affect net returns and should be evaluated carefully.

Insurance products and annuities

Insurance products, including life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, disability insurance, business coverage, or related premium-financing strategies, may be discussed as part of retirement, liquidity, wealth preservation, asset protection, or legacy planning. Insurance products are not appropriate for every client, may involve significant costs, and should be evaluated in light of policy terms, surrender charges, liquidity needs, tax consequences, underwriting results, and alternative strategies.

Fixed insurance products are backed by the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer and are not guaranteed by Echelon, any investment adviser, custodian, bank, or government agency. Variable insurance or annuity products, if offered, may involve securities, market risk, prospectus delivery requirements, and broker-dealer or securities licensing requirements. Insurance-related compensation, including commissions, trails, marketing allowances, or referral compensation, may create conflicts of interest and should be disclosed as required by law.

Custody and account access

Unless otherwise disclosed in writing, Echelon does not maintain physical custody of client assets. Client assets should generally be held by qualified custodians or other appropriate institutions. Clients should review custodial statements and confirmations directly from the custodian and promptly report discrepancies.

Any future testimonials, endorsements, rankings, awards, case studies, or performance information should be accompanied by required disclosures and reviewed under applicable SEC Marketing Rule and state requirements.
