Estate and trust development requires coordination among clients, attorneys, trustees, tax advisors, custodians, and administrators.
Estate and trust development scope
Echelon Heritage Group may provide estate and trust development coordination, family governance support, trust implementation project management, trustee and administrator coordination, beneficiary education, asset titling checklists, estate liquidity review, insurance coordination, charitable planning coordination, and legacy planning support.
Trust and estate strategies are highly dependent on state law, trust situs, governing instruments, grantor intent, tax treatment, asset type, fiduciary powers, family circumstances, beneficiary needs, creditor considerations, and administrative requirements.
Not legal advice or document drafting
Unless provided by a separately engaged licensed attorney, Echelon does not provide legal advice, draft wills or trusts, interpret legal documents as counsel, prepare deeds, issue legal opinions, represent clients in probate or trust litigation, or determine the legal validity of estate planning documents. Clients should engage qualified estate planning counsel in the relevant jurisdiction.
Trustee, trust company, and fiduciary status

Fiduciary capacity and limitations
Any fiduciary duties owed by Echelon are limited to the duties expressly established by written agreement and applicable law. General website content, discovery calls, educational materials, project management, advisor coordination, and planning discussions do not create a trustee, executor, attorney-client, tax-preparer, or fiduciary relationship unless required by law or expressly agreed in writing.
Trust administration coordination
Trust administration may involve accounting, tax reporting, distributions, beneficiary communications, investment oversight, situs review, document review, asset retitling, insurance review, and recordkeeping. Echelon may help coordinate these workstreams with trustees, counsel, CPAs, custodians, and administrators, but does not guarantee administrative outcomes, tax treatment, creditor protection, privacy, beneficiary harmony, or court approval.
Jurisdiction, situs, and state law
Trust laws vary materially by jurisdiction. Directed trust provisions, decanting, asset protection, privacy, dynasty trust duration, state income tax treatment, trustee powers, and fiduciary duties differ by state. Clients should consult legal counsel before selecting a trust situs, changing trustees, modifying trust terms, or transferring assets.
